Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA covers testing of an experimental radar in an aircraft test. The radar is for a satellite system, but a short airborne test is needed to test the custom electronics. The spacecraft radar operation is covered by a separate FCC filing (0066-EX-CN-2018).

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The radar will periodically transmit short bursts of electromagnetic waves towards the ground. The nominal height above ground (AGL) of the aircraft will be 6500 ft. Reflected versions of these bursts will be recorded by the radar and stored for post-processing. This operation will occur over the area in which the aircraft operates. The nominal height above ground (AGL) of the aircraft will be 6500 ft.
