Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of a number of frequencies in the UHF band as well as in the 2 GHz band. The purpose is to provide coverage and logistics support for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games at Mill Spring, North Carolina at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, from September 11 to September 23, 2018. The use is requested for the period of September 1 to September 24, 2018 (including setup, testing and take down). It is recognized that some requested frequencies are in the Broadcast Auxiliary Services Band; therefore, the SBE frequency coordinator will be notified prior to use. It is also noted that some frequencies may be used for airborne use at a height not to exceed 500 feet. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to various entities at major events. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for numerous previous events. The number of frequencies requested is due to the size of the event and to allow for reasonable access to the shared spectrum that will likely have other users.
