Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of a number of frequencies to support the televised network coverage of the presidential inauguration and related events in Washington, DC for the period of January 11 through January 22, 2017. Numerous frequencies and transmitter units are being requested due to the magnitude of this event. In addition, due to the number of entities that will be covering the event it is realized that the requested frequencies are likely to have to be shared with other users. It is also noted that a number of the frequencies are in the band reserved for television broadcasting and therefore might not be useable. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to broadcasters and broadcast network entities for coverage of events. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for several previous events. Please note that this request is made with the approval of the Inauguration 2017 Frequency Coordination Committee.
