STA Application
National Association of Broadcasters Convention Demonstration
STA File Number 0539-EX-ST-2018

This STA Application proposes the use of 8 UHF land mobile radio channels for short-
range demonstration and operation of a Bosch radio interface which incorporates the use
of FCC-certified, commercially made mobile and portable transceivers within the Las
Vegas Convention Center at a large broadcasting show.

A study of the FCC ULS has been conducted relative to the use of these channels, which
revealed that no interference will be caused to any licensed land mobile radio station in
the area. All demonstration operation will be inside the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The dates of this demonstration will be April 7 through and including April 12 of this
year. Use of the channels proposed will be in complete accordance with all Part 90 rules.
Bosch Security Systems, Inc. is a Commission licensee in the UHF land mobile band
450-470 MHz (see WRAN543) but that site-specific license does not include operation in
Las Vegas, Nevada.

The demonstration will include up to four portable radios at one watt ERP and up to four
mobile radios at 5 watts ERP with an RF attenuator.

The “stop-buzzer” contact for this operation will be Mr. Hieu Ninh who can be reached at
402-467-6641. Additionally, regulatory counsel for Bosch Security Systems, Inc. can be
reached for stop-buzzer contacts at the following mobile number: 301-351-3795.
