(6) DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH PROJECT
   (a) Blue Origin is an aerospace research and development company developing
commercial launch vehicle technology. Blue Origin is developing a series of space-
launch vehicles beyond the next 5 years. Blue Origin’s main assembly and test
facilities are in Kent, Washington; flight-test facilities are in a sparely-populated
desert area in Culberson County (North of the small town of Van Horn), Texas. Blue
Origin is currently conducting flight testing of a vehicle at this facility, and plans to
flight test a series of vehicles to be assembled and tested in Kent, Washington and
       flight tested in Texas.
   (b) The desired FCC license applies to Global Position Service (GPS) re-radiation or
repeater equipment, for use in testing position-computation equipment in aerial
vehicles that are being built by Blue Origin. These vehicles will be tested and
operated at Blue Origin’s private facilities in Kent, Washington and near Van Horn,
Texas. In both locations, Blue Origin plans to test the vehicles’ on-board GPS sensors
during vehicle assembly, while the vehicle and vehicle components are indoors and
therefore unable to receive satellite GPS signals. The equipment is needed to
generate the GPS signals that can be received by the vehicle components while
indoors at various stages of assembly and test.

(8) LENGTH OF TIME THAT WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM
OF EXPERIMENTATION:
Blue Origin is developing a series of launch vehicles. Extensive development testing,
assembly testing and flight testing is planned for multiple vehicles for more than a 5-
year period (see #6, above). Blue Origin plans to use the GPS equipment over the
course of the 5-year period following receipt of the license sought in this application.
These launch vehicles require extensive indoor testing over the 5-year period.
(12) TYPE OF APPLICANT:
Blue Origin, LLC is a limited liability company formed under the laws of the State of Washington.
