Atheros Communications, Inc., requests modification of its existing experimental radio
station license under Call Sign WD2XEM to add the following frequencies to the
authorization:

5470-5725 MHz

4900-5150 MHz

2300-2400 MHz

Justification: Authorization to use the bands on a low-power, itinerant basis is required to
develop and test products. For the 5470-5725 MHz band, development work is for
products to be used in new band allocated in U.S. by FCC action of November 13, 2003,
including work and products necessary to support joint industry/U.S. Government group
scheduled to conduct bench and field testing of test designs in early 2004 for compliance
with new DFS requirements adopted in the November regulations. The 2300-2400 and
4900-5150 MHz bands are used in other countries and authorization is required to
develop products for export..
