Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Aeronautical Radio Inc. (ARINC) hereby requests a Special Temporary Authority (STA) to begin operation on January 15, 2001 in order to complete the INMARSAT satellite aircraft earth station (AES) access approval and commissioning process and to begin ARINCs avionics qualification policy network authorization approval for the SATCOM Aero-I AES. These tests are necessary to maintain a safe and efficient environment for the commercial airline industry. We have recently filed an application with the Experimental Radio Service, FCC file number 0013-EX-PL-2001, but do not expect a decision on the pending application in the near term. We respectfully request your approval of our STA request as soon as possible.
