Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA application will support demonstrating operations of AeroVironment’s small unmanned aircraft (SUAS) technology at Fort Benning, Georgia from September 1, 2014 through October 31, 2014. Use of frequencies in the 2.3 GHz -2.455 GHz range will provide insight as to the operational performance of the SUAS.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  UAV demonstration AeroVironments SUAS technology provides real-time direct situational awareness. The system’s communications platform features air vehicles (AVs), a ground control unit and support equipment. The AV can be controlled manually or can autonomously navigate a preplanned route. Transmission will originate from a ground control station to the AV, a mobile unit. Frequencies at 2380 MHz, 2415MHz and 2455MHz will be for purposes of AV control, and video and telemetry transmission to and from the AV.
