Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA application will support demonstrating and testing operations of AeroVironments small unmanned aircraft (SUAS) technology in Simi Valley, CA from April 1 through September 16, 2016. Use of frequencies in the 2380-2385 MHz range will provide insight as to the operational performance of the SUAS in this frequency segment.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  SUAS testing AeroVironments SUAS technology provides real-time direct situational awareness. The systems communications platform features air vehicles (AVs), a ground control unit and support equipment. The aircraft can be controlled manually or can automatically navigate a preplanned route. Transmission will originate from a ground control station to the AV, a mobile unit. Frequencies at 2380-2385 MHz will be used for aircraft control and video and telemetry transmission to and from the AV.
