Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
STA is sought for a period of less than six months and for operations which will be conducted in accordance with the Commissions rules. STA is necessary in order to demonstrate critical satellite equipment to broadcasters at a once-a-year event. Such demonstration will allow broadcasters - - who often stand shoulder to shoulder with emergency personnel - - to consider using such equipment for the dissemination of emergency announcements that affect homeland security, natural disasters and other law enforcement events.
