(ASRI) is submitting on behalf of ARINC Incorporated (ARINC) an application for an experimental license for ARINC to operate from the ARINC system test bed in Annapolis, MD. ARINC is requesting to perform Avionics Qualification Policy (AQP) testing with the Cobham Aviator 300 Swift Broadband unit (SBU). AQP testing will consist of the reception and transmission of ACARS data and Voice over Swift Broadband on the ARINC/INMARSAT GLOBALink Network using INMARSAT 1-4 Series Satellites. This testing will validate the Cobham SBU’s compliance with all applicable ARINC/AEEC standards, and will test interoperability with other AQP qualified avionics when communicating on the network. The test equipment will include a Cobham high gain directional antenna, the Cobham Aviator 300 SBU, coax cabling, ARINC 429 data bus wiring, AC/DC power supply, various ARINC 758 compliant Communication Management Units (CMUs), and other applicable avionics. For your information ASRI is also including a specification sheet for the Cobham transmitter that ARINC would like use.
