Request for Expedited Processing STA File No. 0308-EX-ST-2009 Alcatel-Lucent is requesting expedited processing of STA File No. 0308-EX-ST-2009 to support Public Safety operations. Alcatel-Lucent is providing testing of equipment for numerous public safety entities that are moving forward with 700MHz deployments. Public Safety trials using LTE are tentatively scheduled to start later this year. Early trials will use basic LTE functionality while more robust Public Safety features will be developed as the LTE product evolves during 2010. This experimental STA will provide support the public safety entities planning to upgrade their Public Safety systems to the latest technology (i.e. move from older analog Police/Fire communications to high-speed wireless digital broadband).
