Application Summary
Adtran is interesting in testing radios from CCS that operate in the 28Ghz licensed spectrum with an area of Cummings
Research park. The tests will involve equipment located at Adtran’s facility, the Hudson-Alpha Institute’s facility, and
two other locations within the research park.

Explanation of Proposed Testing
The purpose of the experimental license is to test the self-organizing mesh network equipment in real world
environment and to specifically test reliability of the network. The testing is not intended to evaluate the radio
frequency characteristics of the nodes, but to test the throughput and stability of the equipment. Experimentation will
include functional testing and simulated fail over scenarios. Results of the test will lead to ongoing software
improvements. The proposed configuration represents a minimum number of nodes within this geographic area for
testing.
