Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Special temporary authority is requested to permit testing of equipment that will allow emergency vehicles to control traffic lights at intersections. This equipment may save lives as it will allow emergency vehicles to travel through intersections more safely. Arrangements have been made to permit testing of these devices under various conditions as soon as FCC approval is secured. Because of the necessary coordination required to arrange for such tests in public roads, applicants requests special temporary authority to meet its commitments to local authorities.
