We operate a factory in Macon, GA where tracking device final assembly and configuration takes place. GPS signal reception verification is part of the process. The Factory is enclosed in a steel structure that attenuates RF signals. The proposed program to bring GPS signal availability into the Factory floor will enable us to efficiently test the products in a controlled environment. The GPS signal is planned to be re-radiated indoors only using a directional antenna mounted at the ceiling, pointed at test benches. We will maintain full control over the proposed re-radiating system and will be able to shut it down shall we be ordered to do so. Program Objectives: We seek to accomplish the following objectives: 1. Illumination of the part of the Factory floor with a GPS Signal to allow product testing and experimentation indoors. 2. Further design, development and enhancement of existing GPS applications to provide greater efficiency and more effective means of utilizing GPS derived information. 3. Ability to troubleshoot and repair GPS systems without having to endure the costly time and expense to relocate the equipment outdoors.
