Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
An STA is necessary to enable The Yield Americas (The Yield) to relocate and extend its trial of its technology to different locations at two Californian vineyards. A previous trial is being completed, aligned to the completion of the 2018 vintage harvest and follow on pruning. This trial is under a current STA, with File Number 0918-EX-ST-2018 and Call Sign WM9XYB. The wine company wishes to relocate The Yields equipment into near by vineyard plots to trial the technology into the 2019 growing season. It was anticipated that The Yield would have achieved full FCC certification for its transmitting equipment by the end of 2018. However, there have been delays in arranging for testing which will extend beyond the expiry of the current STA, which is 10 January 2019. This application is for the same transmitting equipment being used under the current STA. The equipment relocation will be in the same geographic areas - Yountville in Napa Valley and North Canyon near Santa Maria. The Yield now anticipates that it will have completed FCC certification by May 2019.

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of the operation is to trial wireless IoT technology within vineyards. A suite of sensors are located in specific in-vineyard microclimates (for example a frost hollow) and connected to a Sensor Node. The Sensor Nodes communicate wirelessly across a vineyard linking back to a Gateway. (The Gateways communicate to The Yields cloud platform via Ethernet connection into the wine companys global network). The wireless technology is 6LoWPAN with transceivers operating in the 902MHz to 928MHz ISM band. The modulation is spread spectrum 50 channel frequency hopping. The EIRP is 1 Watt. Sensor Node antennae are no more than 5-foot off the ground, and the Gateway antennae are no more then 20-foot off the the ground.
