Special Temporary Authority application - Initial values - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The proposed experiment fulfills requirements for work supported by the Department of the Air Force under Air Force Contract No. FA8702-15-D-0001. The program is developing technology to improve the performance and protection of communication signals. MIT Lincoln Laboratory is developing a communications capability for the Department of Defense. In order to have a successful transition to the warfighter, the developed technology needs to be tested and demonstrated in air-to-air and air-to-ground flight tests. This STA will support a USAF demonstration to take place in March 2022 at Eglin AFB.

The proposed experiment fulfills requirements for work supported by the Department of the Air Force under Air Force Contract No. FA8702-15-D-0001.
