General Dynamics has requested permission and scheduling to deploy a limited number of Modular Instrumented MDO Integrated Capability (MIMIC) devices to the US Army Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) for an operational demonstration. The Spectrum Manager at Fort Polk has requested GDMS secure a STA for operation of the system for this demonstration.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of the operation will be to demonstrate the MIMIC system for potential future training purposes. MIMIC devices are RF transmitting devices that are placed into a location and left in an active (non-transmit) state. The active state allows a central location to command and control the RF output of 1 to many MIMIC devices for the purpose of generating a sequence or series of RF transmissions. These transmissions can be background (non-hostile) clutter, Active signals for disruption of radio nets used during training, or decoy signals used to complicate ISR activities and augment Visual Modification (VISMOD) decoys.
