Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The Electronics Test Centre is planning to perform measurements on a Bombardier XRS passenger aircraft (January 11 through January 15, 2016) in accordance with RTCA DO-294C. Radio frequency energy will be transmitted using antennas inside the aircraft at 5 discrete frequencies: 815.5 MHz, 837.0 MHz, 1880.0 MHz, 2441.0 MHz, and 5550.0 MHz. Testing is planned to take place at the Aero-Bombardier, Dallas Service Centre (DSC), 7336 Aviation Place Dallas TX, 75235 USA (Lat: 32°5022.5N, Long: 96°5028.0W ).

The operator of the passenger aircraft is planning to allow the use of transmitting portable electronic devices during the taxi-in phase of flight. The testing described above is a means of demonstrating compliance with regulatory aviation requirements in the USA (FAA AC91.21-1B) and Canada (TCCA AC 700-005 and AC 500-002).
