Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation

Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:

This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of frequencies in several different bands for the purpose of providing coverage and logistics support for the US Open Tennis Tournament and related activities for the period of August 19, 2019 through September 9, 2019 (including setup and take down) . The event will be held at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Flushing, NY. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to various entities at major events. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for numerous previous events. The number of frequencies requested is due to the size of the event and to allow for reasonable access to the shared spectrum that will likely have other users. Included in this request are frequencies 76.3 and 77.1 MHz in TV channel 5 that will be used to transmit audio descriptors for the hearing impaired. A review of the FCC database indicates that station WNYX-LD (Facility ID 29236) channel 5 New York, NY is not currently operating and a check of the spectrum did not show any evidence of a nearby channel 5 signal. AFTRCC coordination was requested and received for use of frequencies 2365, 2375 and 2395 MHz - Copy of granted coordination is attached
