Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Parallel Wireless seeks to perform a demonstration of a prototype cellular base station in the Band 14 public safety LTE band. Parallel Wireless’s existing licenses do not cover the area and dates of the demonstration. Specifically, the STA is requested for a demonstration taking place September 6 - 8, 2016 at Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, IL, during the 20th Annual IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) Training Summit. The primary responsibility of the IEMA is to better prepare the State of Illinois for natural, manmade or technical disasters, hazards, or acts of terrorism. More information on IEMA may be found at http://www.illinois.gov/iema/About/Pages/default.aspx. The IEMA Training Summit is an annual conference, which offers training and professional growth sessions on current, critical topics. More information in the IEMA Training Summit may be found at https://iemasummit2016.pathable.com.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
The objective of this demonstration is to showcase network capabilities of the experimental Parallel Wireless system in the Band 14 public safety LTE band. The demonstration will take place at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, IL, during the 20th Annual IEMA Training Summit. Attachment A is an overhead view showing the location of the CWS-3XXX unit. The primary exercise participants are the Grundy County (IL) Emergency Management Agency, Harris County, and LA-RICS (Los Angeles Regional Interoperable Communications System). This demonstration will utilize 1 CWS-3XXX unit from Parallel Wireless to provide Band 14 LTE coverage. The CWS-3XXX base station will be fixed inside the Capital Convention Center. Using handsets from Sonim Technologies and core network support from Harris County and LA-RICS, Parallel Wireless will demonstrate voice and data over the Band 14 network. There is no commercial activity or mission-critical telecommunications support being provided as part of this demonstration. Rather, the demonstration is proof-of-concept. Parallel Wireless respectfully requests consideration of this request and will provide all cooperation and assistance needed.
