Nokia is a leading manufacturer of mobile broadband radio equipment, the grant of the experimental special temporary STA (Experimental STA) application will allow Nokia to demonstrate its Wireless concepts and potential products to its potential cusotmers at its facilityin Murray Hill, New Jersey which will allow the company to enhance its efforts to design and develop equipment to meet the communications needs of our customers.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
Nokia wants to demonstrate Nokia End-to-End CBRS Wireless solution consisting of Nokia Spectrum Access System (SAS), Nokia Domain Proxy (DP), Nokia Environmental Sensing Capability Cloud (ESC) and Nokia indoor and outdoor CBSDs to our customers at its facility in Murray Hill, NJ 07974, 600 Mountain Ave, the STA period would be from June 30th to December 30th, 2018 to allow time for setup, customer demonstrations/testing and operation of the equipment and incumbent protection scenarios. This testing will utilize Nokia’s SAS - an early version of which has been demonstrated at FCC headquarters in Washington DC on March 22, 2018 to FCC Commisoner Mike ORielly, FCC OET Chief Julius Knapp, CBRS team in OET and select NTIA staff. Nokia presently is a Wave 2 applicant.
