Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Development of community cellular networks for low resource regions. We would like to run a network test bed at low power (<10 watts) in the GSM-900 frequency band to maintain and validate compatibility with available commercial GSM user equipment. Our research explores new community management schemes for low cost GSM-GRPS cellular networks. This operation allows us to integrate our software defined radio technology with a deployment partners hardware and demonstrate our system to a potential funding NGO in February.
