Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The system we are looking to test is a managed access cellular system that provides a RF umbrella over prisons that do not affect the community around the prison facility. This system is not cell phone jamming. The system allows phone calls out of the system for those phones who have been provisioned that are entered in by corrections officials, and all other devices are queried for the location for the phone and corrections officials are notified that an illicit phone has been identified. If the phone location is reported outside the facility, the system will reject the phone from registering, turning it bback to the macro system. The RF system we are implementing is a passive DAS, that operates well below the EIRP max values. Anyone that dials 911 will be connected to an operator. The maximum distance between the antenna and the outside of the prison wall is 70 feet, the max EIRP is 23.8. Stop Buzzer, Chuck Bokath (404) 386-8468.
