Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
The Hondajet Model 420 aircraft is twin engine business jet in the process of transponder certification testing per 14CFR23. The testing will follow the methodology described in AC 23-8B, para. 287(b)(9). Transponder flight tests include climb and distance coverage, long range reception, high angle reception, high altitude cruise, and holding and orbiting patterns. Two tests not described in AC 23-8B but included in AC 25-7A will also be performed. Those tests are a surveillance approach and altitude reporting, AC 25-7A, para. 170.c.(7)(viii) and (ix), respectively.
