Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Our team at Northeastern University lead by Prof. Tommaso Melodia will have to provide a demonstration of a new transmission modulation for LTE networks to the US Military on Fort Gordon GA. The demonstration will take place in Fort Gordon from April 14th to April 17th 2020. We will operate on LTE Band 7 to achieve communications over max. 100 meters (max. power is 10 milliwatt). We have an experimental license to operate at these frequencies within Northeastern University campus in Boston, but we need similar permissions to showcase our system to US military in Fort Gordon.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Transmission activities will be intermittent, limited to 10am to 4pm and for a maximum of 40 minutes per day (max 4 minutes per demonstration, for a maximum of 10 demonstrations per day). There will be up to 2 fixed user equipments and one fixed base station. Both UEs and the base station consist of National Instruments USRP X310 radios, each equipped with 2 Ettus Research VERT2450 omni-directional vertical antenna at 3dBi gain. Each transceiver will be operating on LTE Band 7 range. Uplink is defined as from the user equipment to the base station (2500-2570 MHz) and the Downlink is defined as from the base station to the user equipment (2620-2690 MHz). Transmission power of each node is limited to 10 milliwatts. All transceivers will be placed on short poles with 1-meter elevation from the ground. The maximum distance from each transceiver is no more than 100 meters within Ft Gordon perimeter.
