Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The purpose of this STA is to permit access to microwave spectrum for video production of a bicycle race (the Tour of California Bike Race) over a long distance in California, during the period May 16-23 (see, www.angentourofcalifornia.com). The normal broadcast auxiliary and LTTS channels will be in use by regular broadcast operations and are not reliably available during this limited period event. The channels specified in this STA are used for flight test telemetry and are used by prior coordination with the Aerospace and Flight Test Radio Coordinating Council. A copy of AFTRCCs frequency coordination approval will be filed as an amendment to this application when received, which is expected to be imminent.
