This STA application is being sought in order to research the interference possibilites of an 800MHz band hand-held radio in the presence of network telecommuncations elements in the central office. It will also explore the possibility of the network elements interferring with the hand-held radio in emergency situations

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Operation will be as follows: The hand-held radio will be keyed for 15 seconds on and then 15 seconds off in close proximity (less than 1cm) of the network equipment. The network traffic will be monitored for correction operate and the hand-held device will be monitored for continued operation. If the network element experiences interferece the hand-held radio will be moved away from the network equipment until the equipment is operating properly. This test will be conducted on several network element equipmnet and at 2 locations in the Baltimore MD area. The specific locations are 1. 8670 George Ave Silver Spring, MD 20910 2. 320 St Paul Place Baltimore, MD 21202 Test should last no more than 1 day at each location.
