Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA is necessary in order to provide a continued demonstration via prototype terminals that will communicate with an existing Medium Earth Orbit (“MEO”) satellite known as Omnispace F2. Omnispace cannot obtain a space station license in the U.S. due to incumbent operations therefore Omnispace will ensure that the testing will be completed on a non-interference basis. Omnispace was granted a previous experimental special temporary authorization, file number 0928-EX-ST-2020, that expired on January 2, 2021, and we would like to continue the testing of experimental equipment for an additional 6 months.

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The prototype device will be operated for brief times when Omnispace’s F2 satellite is in communications range. Transmissions will consist of bursty IoT type communications containing less than 5 kB of data each. These packets will be received by F2, and returned to ground via Omnispace’s FCC licensed extended C-band links to our gateway in Brewster, Washington. The received packets will be processed and analyzed for characteristics such as C/N, Eb/No, BER, inverted bits, etc. in order to optimize the modulation and coding required to minimize errors.
