Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
We require a license in order to perform critical tests of an experimental radar system we are developing in fulfillment of a Government Contract (FA8750-15-C-0023). We need the STA to cover a key piece of active test equipment that will we use, around the Plano, TX area. The testing is scheduled to take place from August 1 2016 to December 31 2016. Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
We would need to perform simple tests with our Radar system outdoors. Specifically, we applied for radar coverage in file 0025-EX-ST-2016 and are seeking this application to cover an active target we will place near the radar system that will receive the radar transmission and re-transmit at a delay and attenuation. Thus it uses the same band and emission as the radar system but will transmit with much lower power. During test we will reposition the calibration unit at different locations around the radar system.
